Monthly Music Playlist: Comfort & Appreciation

Autumn is invigorating in so many ways.  I sound basic in my love of fall, but it really is special when the cool weather rushes in.
In the Fall, the world is a kaleidoscope of colors and it serves as a reminder that there is room in this world for every person to shine and express her brilliance.  Below are songs that are both warming in the cold and nostalgic for the summer.

Easy Listening:
Tennis's "Cape Dory"
Every song in this album by Tennis is evocative of the sea.  The rhythm mirrors the beat of waves hitting the side of a boat and makes me feel like I'm sailing.  Since it grows dark so early, I am missing summer, and this song has some serious beach vibes.
Vance Joy's "Riptide"
See the above explanation.  Easy going and rhythmic, this music is especially good for breaking up a long drive.
An all time favorite because...come on...Elvis's voice is like honey.  It's called "Peace in the Valley" for a reason - this song is so soothing.  It reminds me of fairy lights and coziness in the cold.  I also love the choral aspect to this song (I sang it with my college choir and had a solo)!
Anything from Feist's Album, The Reminder
Her voice: it sounds like Fall and makes me believe that new beginnings are always possible.
Zac Brown Band's "Keep Me In Mind"
The harmonies.
Grateful Dead's "Ripple"
Always grateful for the Grateful Dead.  The lyrics.
