'South Carolina, where the cypress grow...'

A couple of months ago, I took a trip to Charleston, SC.  It was refreshing and awesome - so nice to get to some warmth after the cold set in up north.  One of my best friends from Georgetown is currently living in Charleston, so another best friend and I flew down to stay in her old renovated town house.   I've been to Charleston a few times prior to my most recent trip and I love it more every time I visit.  The last time I went was on a road trip with my best friends from college, so this visit was extra-special for us since we were back there together.  We were there for five days.  On one day we drove down to Kiawah, listening to Serial during the drive.  The entire time that we walked along the beach, dolphins swam in pods, up and down the coast.  I felt the healthiest I have in a while (maybe because of the pimento mac and cheese I devoured). [If you go to Kiawah, I stayed at these fully equipped villas with access to tennis, bikes, and the beaches (I loved it).]

What Was Up With The Grammys?

Monday, February 9, 2015

Was I the only one who felt that last night's award show was weird?  On multiple levels, most notably summed up in: Pharrell's failed attempt to moonwalk.  Ed Sheeran was on fire as usual, as was BeyoncĂ©.

Monthly Music: (((The Artists Den)))

Deemed by Rolling Stone as, "inspirational" and "intoxicating," The Artists Den is a fairly new series by PBS: I would venture to label it their best arts programming to date.

Cold as a Beach: Freezing Getaways

I have a penchant for traveling to enchanting harbor towns in the dead of winter.  Summer vacations are usually spent with my family.

Constant Light

People say, 'when it is dark enough, you can see the stars.'  Emerson wrote it and many others riffed off of that.
