I'd heard about this adorable, little coffee/bakeshop in Soho,
Maman, and yearned to try it out. I ordered a cappuccino, which was good, but not as impressive as the overall ambiance of the café. Upon entering the shop, I was overwhelmed by the salty, sweet scent of danishes baking in the ovens. People were sipping on coffee and hot chocolate, sitting at the bar in the window.
The café extends in the back to accommodate more seating. Instead, we opted to sit on a slim bench facing Maman out front. The best thing about Maman is the graphic design on the cups and business cards and its convincingly Parisian vibe - definitely something the likes of Carla Bruni would be found at, coffee and cigarette in hand.
