One Day in Woodstock

Woodstock, New York: Fields of tall grass that smells sweet; signs that read "Show Compassion;" wild flowers blooming on the edge of the yard; acoustic guitar bellowing into the streets.  A feeling welled up inside me and I knew I needed to escape the city for a softer environment.  Woodstock is just that.  Woodstock is a round, welcoming woman, who ushers you into her arms.  There are definitely some characters there, but it's interesting and at ease.

My stomach released the moment I drove into the wide open vistas high up in the Catskill Mountains.  The peaks of these mountains ride out like waves, and when you're at the top, the hills rise up to join you.  Midsummer, the area is teeming with life - the town was bustling, but cleared out later in the day.  Fauna was at its peak.
