Escape to Mohonk Mountain: Summertime

My favorite hike is up the granite cliffs that border Mohonk Lake.  I've been going since I was little and I almost didn't post this because I want to keep this place all to myself, although it's too breathtaking not to share.












When I reached the peak of the "Labyrinth," I saw the Shawangunks extend for miles: green oceanic waves ebbing into the distance.  The wind was strong at the top of the lookout, and as it washed over me, it delivered the scent of English roses and honeysuckle from the gardens below.





It is such a freeing hike and the best part is sitting and taking it all in...
