Vermont is a magical kingdom: local shops, fresh maple syrup, clear blue skies, and crisp mountain air... Despite my aversion to the bleak midwinter, I would not say no to moving northward.
Recently, a trip that I planned fell through at the last minute. The weekend I had scheduled was going to be relaxing and meditative: it would have provided the space to get away and heal. But I had postponed finalizing certain details and at the last minute plans for my accommodations went awry.
Barnard, Vermont is a true summerland. From its lakeside beaches punctuated by campfire pits to the hiking trails that weave up over the crests of leaves of green, there are soul inspiring views in every direction.
This summer, I took two separate trips to central Vermont. One to Woodstock and one to the Bethel/Barnard area. My second visit coincided with one of my best friend's birthdays, so I brought her with me. I run the social media accounts of the hotel at which we stayed, 506 On The River Inn.
Vermont in early June is enchanting - the air is still fresh but the sun is warm. I attended a cocktail party at my boss's vacation home in Bethel and felt so inspired by the flowers leaning in the breeze and the rushing of the river far off that I have included photos here.
I recently attended the blessing of my friend's baby, Holly. The reception, which was held in New Jersey, was filled with flowers, love, and a precisely decorated cake. This little girl is definitely appreciated.
